Bunyip is a small, country town with a big personality.

Located in the Shire of Cardinia and just a short drive from the Princes Highway, Bunyip is home to country pub, a number of shops and some great cafes offering great quality food and coffee. On the last Sunday of every month the town hosts a community market selling fresh fruit and vegetables as well as other enticing produce. Interestingly, the town is named after a mythical creature, known as the Bunyip or Bunyeep, which according to legend lived in and around swampy areas. (There have been no sightings to date.)
