In 2019 Clark NextRE took digital innovation to new levels. Enabling staff to work from wherever they want, whenever they want without disadvantage. What we did not realise at the time of these changes is the true value these innovative steps would have for our staff and the company during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When COVID-19 took it’s hardest hit on Australia to date. We were fortunate enough to have the systems in place to allow staff to communicate online with all of our clients, manage vital HR and financial functions remotely. Our entire team essentially made the switch from the office to home overnight. Not only did we utilise the systems already put in place during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We further engaged our clients and the community through several non-contact platforms. Some we had already had some previous experience with and others entirely new.

Digital innovation we utilised

We engaged a video conferencing platform, where we held a series of informational webinars for local landlords. Over the course of 5 webinars, several guest speakers joined us, to speak about particular topics. And how they have been affected by the pandemic including REIV president Leah Calnan. Not only did this provide landlords with information. But it was an avenue for questions and discussion. You can find all of these webinars on our YouTube channel.

Another step we took was ensuring homes could be viewed remotely. We did this in three ways; 3D tours, video tours and live streaming (all of which provided to our vendors free of charge). With the use of a 3D Matterport camera, we were able to map homes and create 3D virtual tours of every property for sale within one week. Prospective buyers could view properties in detail and as if they were there from the comfort of their own home. Live streaming to Facebook allowed agents to showcase homes while simultaneously communicating with viewers.

Our growth

Part of the overarching rationale for Clark NextRE to take steps such as these is that innovation is one of our company values. We’re dedicated to looking at the best practices and technologies. Not just from our real estate industry but from other industries that could be applied to ours. The changes we made will forever change the way our company operates. Which ultimately has provided staff with more flexibility, a better service offering to their clients, and a more efficient platform to work from.

Although it has been a very trying time, many have managed to learn and grow from difficult circumstances and Clark NextRE is no exception. We’ve stepped outside the box and found new and at times more efficient techniques. That we will continue to utilise and build upon after the COVID-19 pandemic.
